Like dogs and cats

Since ancient times, in movies, series, cartoons and comics, we have perceived the fight between cats and dogs and also, the impossible relationships between them. To tell the truth, every day it is easier to find on the Internet (especially on YouTube), comments or videos in which this fateful relationship is more than improved and in fact, they are easily related if they live in the same house, and even more so if they have known each other since puppies.
But what can we do to make that relationship fluid from the beginning, when they are adults ? It is increasingly common for two people who already had a dog or cat to start a life together, with which their pets are “condemned to understand each other.”
The first thing is to make the presentation enjoyable for everyone . For this, it is best to prepare the ground calmly. For example, it is convenient that the dog has eaten and walked recently so that he feels satisfied and calm , and that he is tied at the moment of the presentation, so that the cat can walk around him without feeling threatened . On the other hand, the cat must be left to take its time to approach the dog, without forcing. At all times there must be people of trust of both animals that provide security and trust and say reassuring words. We should not lengthen the situation if one of the two animals feels “too interested” in the other, because an aggressive response at first can mark the relationship.
Secondly, it is convenient for each one to have his space separated from the other, at least during one season. Cats don’t like to share and dogs tend to “invade” each other’s spaces, so that may be one of the most contentious points. Therefore, it is advisable that, where possible, the cat litter box and the dog bed with their respective toys are in separate rooms.
We already know that each animal (like each person) is a world , and there are relationships between adult dogs and cats that are cordial almost from the beginning, and others that are more complicated, requiring months of adaptation, but in any case they are the owners. those who have to have the patience to make this new accommodation as pleasant as possible.
