6 mistakes you should not make when you train your dog

We have all screwed up once, and whoever is free of guilt throw the first stone. But if you want to train your dog well, even if it is with the basic commands, you will have to try to avoid the most common mistakes. Some of us repeat them over and over again, so we have brought you a list so that when you meet them, you can avoid them.

1. Let your dog get bored

Let your dog get bored while you are teaching him. If you detect that you are getting bored, it is better to stop and leave it for another time. You will get nothing but frustration for both of you.

2. Punish your Dog

Shout at him, or scold or physically punish him. You must correct him firmly but gently, influencing when he does well, treat him with affection. Otherwise, you will base teaching on fear and may become more aggressive. And don’t forget to give him a prize when he does it right!

3. Train your Dog when he is tired

Train your dog when he or you are tired . If your dog is tired you will not get good results, and if you are you will probably have less patience. Try that each session does not exceed 15 minutes.

4. Chase your dog when you tell him to come

Chase him when you tell him to come (or be still) and he doesn’t. For your Dog it can become a fun game and he may think that is what you expect.

5. Use a space with many distractions

Try to train him in a space with many distractions , such as children, people who walk other dogs, other types of animals, etc. It is best to start at home or in a separate space, and when you have learned, take him to these kinds of places.

6. Wanting your dog to learn everything the first time

Hope that he knows how to do something before you teach him , or that he learns everything super fast.
